I’m currently away in Priorato in Spain (of which more later this week) but this was a great combination I came across last week at the Gaucho Grill in Swallow Street, London.

On a hazy March morning @clevedonpier was just a joy - like stepping back into the 50s except for the rows of plaques that line the sides commemorating births, deaths and love affairs. Resolved to go more often. #clevedonpier #clevedom #pier #seaside #somersetWhat a way to kick off a meal: potato beignets with anchovy mayo and parmigiano reggiano. Then two exemplary main courses, cod and mussels with curried crab sauce (a bit like a mouclade) and pork schnitzel with brown butter capers and (more) anchovies. Not many restaurants have main courses that are as good as their starters but @1yorkplace_bristol is one of them.
